Mandible Augmentation
Mandible augmentation with a PEEK onlay implant is commonly used to augment the mandible as a result of birth defects or trauma. Most often the goal is to achieve symmetry in the mandible of the patient. Occasionally, both sides require augmentation; in these cases we try to find a matching mandible from our database as a starting point for the design of the augmentation. PEEK is the chosen material, since this augments the skeleton and does not dissolve. Also PEEK can be modified interoperatively for finetuning the cosmetic appearance.
