Pre-operative

After decompressive craniectomy, the original skull part was put back. After several months, a large part of the reimplanted skull part was resorbed in this patient.

PSI Design

The surgeon wanted to leave the remaining bone in place, so the implant was designed to fit over it. Fixation was done with our patented tangential Interfix. The hole pattern is designed for the fixation of the musculus temporalis and to pull the dura towards the implant with stitches.

Final implant

On the surgeons request, the final custom implant was produced in PEEK. The surgery took less than an hour.

Pre-operative

A large defect remained in this patient after aneurysm treatment. The defect involves part of the orbita.

Pre-operative

After decompressive craniectomy, the original skull part was put back. After several months, the reimplanted skull part was almost fully resorbed in this patient. The blue bone parts indicate the bone parts the surgeon would remove before placing the implant.

PSI Design

This is the final design. Fixation was done with our patented tangential Interfix. The hole pattern is designed for the fixation of the musculus temporalis and to pull the dura towards the implant with stitches.

Final implant

On the surgeons request, the final custom implant was produced in titanium.

Pre-operative

After decompressive craniectomy, the original skull part was put back. After several months, a large part of the reimplanted skull part was resorbed in this patient, but still firmly attached to the skull.

Intra-operative

After surgical planning, the surgeon first removed the remaining bone part.

PSI design

The custom implant was designed to cover the defect that would remain after the bone was removed.

Final implant

On the surgeons request, the final custom implant was produced in PEEK.

Pre-operative

An elderly patient suffered from severe osteomeyelitis. The surgeon decided it was best to remove the entire mandible.

PSI Design

The design was based on the shape of the original jaw, with the exception of the coronoid processes. In the proposed implant material titanium, these would become too sharp.

PSI Design

In the design, several features were accomodated: holes for stitches and weight reduction, screw holes for the dental suprastructure, and a duct for the mandibular nerve.

Final implant

The final custom implant was produced in titanium and coated with hydroxyapatite. The condyles and nerve duct were polished.

Pre-operative

The patient suffered a traumatic defect on his forehead.

PSI Design

The implant was designed to cover the defect perfectly.

Final implant

On the surgeons request, the final custom implant was produced in PEEK.
